Boat for Feeding
So, winter is here for us, that means it’s time to place boat. We left in a hurry, warned that the two keys to get out of Shireoaks Marina is due to be closed for a week, which will delay us massively. We get e-mails for some reason, we just did not read it right! First light (literally) see us sneaking out of the marina and through the lock before the boys are beautiful British Waterways began working.
Having escaped had a wonderful slow amble to the Chesterfield Canal, mooring Osberton, Heyton The Boat Inn, Gringley Enter Shaw and West Stockwith. We saw a total of 18 cygnets only four families! So beautiful and they were all very happy to come by pressing the boat for feeding. Unfortunately one of them seems to be a little flaw, dubbed ‘unstable’ because of their interesting way of getting around.
